RR – Where are your products made?

CES – Clean Earth Soap is handmade in Takaka, Golden Bay, New Zealand

RR – When did your business begin and what was the main motivation to begin/buy your buisness?

CES – Clean Earth Soap was started in 2001.  We brought the business in 2007 from a friend.   We believe in “treading lightly on the Earth” and try to carry this into all aspects of our lives.  Clean Earth Soap was the most beautiful soap that I had tried and we liked the fact it is made using natural and all organic ingredients, where possible.  Being natural it is very gentle on your skin and the environment and the manufacturing process is also very environmental. – This really appealed to us in a business.

RR – Tell a little about your team and who is involved in making the products?

CES – Clean Earth Soap is a family team made up of my partner Phill Thomas and myself, Kerryn Easterbrook.  I create the soap bars, Phill takes care of the marketing and we both share in the sales of your products.  Our son Louie also assists at the local markets.

RR – What is the philosophy behind your products?

CES – Our philosophy behind Clean Earth Soap is creating a really god real bar of soap that is beautiful and natural to use on your body and gentle on the environment.  Our soap is made from quality natural and organic ingredients where possible.  It is much loved by all our regular customers!

RR – What is the one ingredient you couldn’t do without?

CES – We couldn’t do without the New Zealand extra virgin olive oil – it’s what makes our soap so lovely and moisturizing on the skin.

RR – What is your favourite product of all time and why?

CES – Our manuka honey soap bars are our favorite product – they are created from Golden Bay manuka honey which has wonderful skin healing and moisturizing properties.  The manuka honey bars and our lavender and cocoa butter bars are our most popular selling products.
