RR – Where are your products made?

HF – Our products are made on-site at the herb farm in rural Manawatu. We have a purpose built manufacturing unit which allows us to produce our beautiful products in-line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.

RR – When did your business begin and what was the main motivation to begin/buy your business?

HF – The business began in 1993 with Lynn’s vision for a place people could come and experience the wonderful world of herbs. Lynn had been making herbal products from home and saw how effective pure natural products were. The demand for her products grew so much she knew there was a place in the market for the herb farm and wanted to share her passion and belief in herbs with others. I (Lynn’s daughter) grew up using the natural remedies, and was often a guinea pig for new formulas! After travelling overseas as an international model and completing my business degree, the opportunity arose to buy into the herb farm. I was very passionate about the products and knew there was huge growth potential for the business so it was an easy choice to become part of the company.

RR – Tell a little about your team and who is involved in making the products?

HF – We have a fantastic team of 18 passionate and committed people at the herb farm and café. Everyone in the team believes in our philosophy and strives to provide outstanding service and products to our valued customers. Our manufacturing team consists of three lovely ladies, Nicky (Production Manager), Rachael (Manufacturing Assistant) and Sandi (Labelling and Order Processing). All our products are made with positive intention, this is being very mindful of your thoughts when you are making the products and thinking of the wonderful healing properties each product has. We believe this makes our products very special.

RR – What is the philosophy behind your products?

HF – The three words that underpin our brand are natural, effective and trusted. We know they are truly natural because we go to great lengths to ensure each ingredient we use fits our strict criteria and has acceptable documentation.Effective because our products are not only beautiful to use but work as well – we have many customer testimonials telling us so!Trusted because we have been around for 18 years and we are a company with very strong morals and ethics which we don’t compromise. Our products are of the highest quality but at affordable prices, we strongly believe that everyone should be able to afford to use quality natural products and for us people are the most important ingredient in our business!

RR – What is the one ingredient you couldn’t do without?

HF – There are so many amazing herbs we use so this is a hard question. We use rose in a lot of our skincare products and the beautiful soft aroma resonates at a deep level with women. Comfrey is also an incredible herb and we have had results with our comfrey cream that have just blown us away.

RR – What is your favourite product of all time and why?

HF – Another hard question! I would probably have to say the rejuvenating facial mist has become one of my most favourite products, it has a lovely uplifting feel and is great for toning after cleansing and also throughout the day when your skin needs a boost or you are feeling hot and bothered. I always have one on me.
